Residential Landscape Design Shrubs Trees Flowers Flagstone Retaining Wall
This owner's existing landscape plantings had surpassed their peak. The overgrown shrubs and struggling plant material were removed to make way for a new contemporary design developed with help from the homeowner. She wanted the space to be attractive, colorful, and of course low-maintenance. After some slight adjustments to the existing bed layouts and installation of fresh mushroom compost we completed this renovation, which ensured interest throughout the seasons. New plantings included Boxwood, ornamental grasses, yellow Coreopsis, red Coneflower, purple Iris, dwarf Hydrangea, and a specimen Magnolia. Decorative boulders were added to complete the look as well as divert water flow in order to avoid washout of the mulch. Once mature the new plantings will fit cozily together without overwhelming the space or each other.
