Ornamental value and landscape use: Double Play Doozie spirea evolved from the older, more traditional forms of spirea as landscape artists sought to breathe new life into gardens. One of the biggest advantages of Double Play Doozie spirea is that it is seedless and continually blooms throughout the entire season.
Named 2022 Shrub of the Year, Double Play Doozie spirea is deer-resistant and easy to maintain. It is not necessary to dead-head Double Play Doozie spirea; instead remove the old stems approximately every two years and lightly prune the spirea once a season. This will keep the plant full and healthy.
Double Play Doozie spirea may be planted en masse among new or old wood chips to construct an attractive border or sparingly to create a garden centerpiece.
