Ornamental value and landscape use: Limelight prime hydrangea was released in 2021 and is a new and improved version of limelight hydrangea. It was named hydrangea of the year in 2023. It tends to bloom into bold lime green colors earlier than most plants and eventually transitions into pink and red colors as the season progresses. With its strong stems, the plant is very tolerant in cold or hot weather. To take care of limelight hydrangea, simply prune it in the late winter or early spring.

Limelight prime hydrangea is a nice addition to fresh and dried-cut flowers. The plant is ideal for formal or informal landscapes including cottage gardens and may be planted as a specimen or en masse for a great hedgerow.
